Open Site Explorer by SEOmoz

Open Site Explorer allows you to analyze the first 1,000 backlinks of any domain. For the top 20, you can see more advanced metrics, such as the anchor text used to link to the domain and the page / site authority. You can sort the back links to show only followed, 301, or nofollowed links, as well as links from all pages, external or internal pages, and links to a specific page, the sub-domain, or the entire domain.

You will also be able to see the top 20 linked to pages on the domain, the top 20 highest authority domains linking to the queried domain, the top 20 most used anchor text, and other link metrics. You can run an unlimited amount of reports daily.


SEO Quake

SEO Quake is a powerful tool for FireFox and Chrome, designed for webmasters and marketers practicing search engine optimization. SEO Quake displays important SEO parameters such as Google PageRank, number of indexed pages, number of inbound links, DMOZ presence, Alexa rank, Digg and Technorati history for any given webpage or SERP listing. Once installed, SEO Quake consists of three functional parts; the SEO toolbar, SEO bar and an search engine result page (SERP) overlay. The SEO toolbar allows you to see requested parameters in a separate customizable toolbar within your browser. Way Back Machine

This tools is great for tracking the progress of a given domain over time. We love looking at top sites in their earlier stages like the screenshot below of Google.com from 1998. From an SEO perspective Wayback Machine can be used to determine the age of a domain which is important for establishing credible link partnerships. Older domain typically have higher PageRanks than newer less established domains.

Since they’re so good at explaining their own products over at SEOmoz, we might as well give them the floor: The Term Extractor tool analyzes the content of a given page and extracts the terms that appear to be targeted at search engines.
